ROMA APPOINT MOURINHO AS NEW MANAGER FOR NEXT SEASON

Italian Serie A giants AS Roma have appointed Portuguese manager José Mourinho as their new head coach who will be taking over as from next season. The Italian outfit confirmed this move in an announcement they made on their official Twitter page, just three hours after announcing that current manager Paulo Fonseca will be leaving the Stadio Olympico at the end of the current campaign.

The club have decided to let go of Fonseca after his inability to steer them towards their main objectives of the season and they have identified Mourinho as the man who is capable and worthy enough to restore them to their normal status. Only last month, Mourinho was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur after a run of unwanted results which forced the hands of the London club’s owner Daniel Levy to dish out the sack letter to the Portuguese.

JUVENTUS PREDICTED LINEUP VS TORINO

Juventus and Torino will go head to head in the Turin Derby on Saturday with huge pressure mounting on Andrea Pirlo to improve his underperforming squad and have them return to winning ways as major title contenders once again. The Old Lady have not had the best of luck in the past couple of weeks and it is something the manager and the players will be looking to work on so they can end the season on a bright note.

Pirlo’s team selection for the match will be determined by a couple of factors, one of which is due to the fact that Weston McKennie could be unavailable for the match after it was confirmed that the on-loan midfielder had his house burgled earlier in the week. The midfielder’s absence will surely force the manager to make tactical changes that he was not expecting to make, and he would need to act fast.

REPORT: AC MILAN CLOSE IN ON KEY TRANSFER TARGET

Italian Serie A outfit AC Milan are said to have progressed in negotiations for the signing of their reported key transfer target Otavio. The Milan club have been in negotiations with the player’s agent for some time now and while it has taken them a while, they seem to have finally gotten the green light to complete the transfer.

Milan reportedly tabled a bid of €12 million for Otavio, an offer that the player’s club Porto will seemingly be more than prepared to accept as they look to raise money for player recruitment. The Italian club’s manager Paolo Maldini and his assistant Ricky Massara are not waiting until the summer until they initiate their transfer processes and they have already drawn up a list of players they are willing to try to sign, including Otavio and Florian Thauvin.

JUVENTUS IDENTIFY POSSIBLE ALTERNATIVE TO UNITED MIDFIELDER

Serie A giants Juventus have identified an alternative player should they fail in their bid to sign Manchester United’s Paul Pogba this summer. Pogba is currently Juve’s number-one target and they have now set their sights on another midfield superstar who they feel will be a worthy alternative to their side if they fail to convince the Red Devils to part ways with one of their key players in the summer transfer window.


French Midfielder HoussemAouar who plays for Ligue 1 side Lyon has been earmarked as the next option by Juve manager Andrea Pirlo in case they are unable to get their hands on Pogba. CHIESA ENDS MILAN UNBEATEN RUN

Italy international player Federico Chiesa was the star man as Juventus beat AC Milan to end their unbeaten run in the Italian Serie A. The new Juventus signingplayed his best game for the champions since he joined them from Fiorentina in the summer as he scored a brace to lead his team to a 3-1 win over the Rossoneri who has led the league till date. Federico Chiesa is becoming an important player for both Juventus and Italy due to his performances since the new season started and he showed his quality again in a bigger way by hauling Juventus back into the thick of the title race in the top flight of club football in Italy. He scored the opening goal of the game on 16 minutes after linking up with fellow attacker Paolo Dybalaexquisitely. AC Milan recovered from the setback of the aforementioned Federico Chiesa strike by getting the equaliser five minutes before the break through Davide Calabria who produced a side-foot finish thereby levelling proceedings for his team as the two giants of club football in Italy went into the interval with a goal apiece.

MILAN DUO SEEK TO EXTEND RUN

The Milan clubs are the pacesetters in the topflight league in Italy after the first ten games of the new season. AC Milan and Inter Milan have started the season very well buoyed by the recent run of three successive victories for each of the two teams. AC Milan are the league leaders and are one of the two unbeaten teams in the topflight league in Italy alongside Juventus, while Inter Milan are in second position having lost once in the league this season. Their only loss came against AC Milan in the Milan Derby earlier in the season.


AC Milan have a record of eight wins and two draws from the ten games played in the top flight league in Italy this season. The Rossoneri have 26 points at this stage of the season and they are the pacesetters. Milan are five points ahead of Inter Milan who have a record of seven wins, three draws and one loss in the ten games played in the topflight league in the European country of Italy. NEW FACES IN ITALIAN NOVEMBER SQUAD

AC Milan defender Davide Calabria and Atalanta midfielder Matteo Pessina have been handed their first call-ups in the senior national team for the two Nations League fixtures against Poland Bosnia-Herzegovina, and a friendly against Estonia.


Calabria, aged 23, had previously trained with the squad in April 2017, but it will be Pessina’s first time with the Azzurri. Mancini, the Italian head coach, has also recalled midfielder Roberto Soriano after four years, with forward Pietro Pellegri and defender Domenico Criscito back to the squad after two years.

Moise Kean keen on proving himself at Everton next season

Italy international Moise Keane has said that he is determined to prove himself at Everton following a forgettable first season with the club. The youngster joined the Toffees with high expectations after turning down advances from the likes of Arsenal but his performances were far from impressive.


The 20-year-old struggled to make any notable impact during the initial stages of the Premier League and the trend remained the same for the entire campaign where he played second fiddle to Dominic Calvert-Lewin for the centre-forward role. He ended the campaign with just two league goals to his name and one of those came in the final game of the season which the Toffees lost 3-1 to relegated Bournemouth.

Eto’o says that Alexis Sanchez has been unlucky

Samuel Eto’o says that Alexis Sanchez had an unlucky period during his first year of the loan in Inter Milan. But Eto’o assures that Alexis has more to show at Inter and can still shine within the team. He was transferred from Arsenal to Manchester United in 2018 but he failed to reach the same competence of his former club.


In the 2019–2020 season he has was given in loan to Inter Milan and Antonio Conte accepted him despite his lack of performance at United. He has given an impressive performance at the Italian club Udinese and Spanish giants Barcelonaand the same is expected from him in Inter.

Ciro Immobile says Lazio could dominate Italian football in the future

Italy international Ciro Immobile believes Lazio are progressing in the right path and could compete at the top for many years to come. The Capital outfit have provided a strong challenge to Juventus for the league title this term and they were just one point behind the holders before the coronavirus shutdown.


Lazio will have the chance to win their maiden Scudetto since 2020 when the season resumesand Immobile is pleased to have made the decision to join the club in the first place, he told on Instagram Live: “I wanted the Biancocelesti at all costs, I was happy. I quickly felt great, I liked the team and manager. I came after Klose, but I didn’t commit the same error I made at Dortmund: Lewandowski left and I felt the responsibility, at Roma I preferred not to think about it. The relationship with Lotito? It’s great and respectful, like with Tare and Peruzzi. Lazio is destined to remain on the up-and-up for years to come.”
