REPORT: AC MILAN CLOSE IN ON KEY TRANSFER TARGET

Standard

Italian Serie A outfit AC Milan are said to have progressed in negotiations for the signing of their reported key transfer target Otavio. The Milan club have been in negotiations with the player’s agent for some time now and while it has taken them a while, they seem to have finally gotten the green light to complete the transfer.

Milan reportedly tabled a bid of €12 million for Otavio, an offer that the player’s club Porto will seemingly be more than prepared to accept as they look to raise money for player recruitment. The Italian club’s manager Paolo Maldini and his assistant Ricky Massara are not waiting until the summer until they initiate their transfer processes and they have already drawn up a list of players they are willing to try to sign, including Otavio and Florian Thauvin.

Thauvin will be a free agent this summer with his contract running out at the end of the current campaign. The midfielder has been on the Rossoneri transfer wish list for some time now but they have the upper hand now since the midfielder will be available on a free transfer in the summer.

Transfer expert Nico Schira claims that Milan are ready to pounce on a deal for Otavio and are almost at a breakthrough in negotiations with the player and his agent. The attacking midfielder has been an important player for Portuguese club Porto and has been in a rock-solid form so far this campaign with a string of great performances for the club.

An offer of €3 million per year has been tabled by Milan for the player who will be signing a contract until 2025 should he accept the deal. Milan’s club director Stefano Pioli is keen to get the deal over the line as soon as possible so he can fight off interests from other clubs that are also keen on signing Otavio.
